Our Mission
Our Mission is to meet the legal needs of Sri Lankan National detainees serving sentences abroad and in Sri Lanka on war-related charges. In particular, we aim to assist detainees by:
- Applying for international and local amnesty, pardon and treaty transfer programs.
- To Provide counseling, material support, rehabilitation and reconciliation resources.
- Working with the Sri Lankan government and law agencies to obtain the rapid release and reintegration of such detainees back into society.
Our aim is to:
- Utilize pardon, amnesty and treaty transfer programs for the successful repatriation of Sri Lankan detainees
- Arrange religious and counseling services for inmates
- Provide educational materials for prisoners
- Comfort and encourage families and detainees incarcerated on war-related charges in Sri Lanka and abroad
- Increase accessibility to materials and provide emotional support for disabled prisoners
- Economical and skills training for newly released/pardoned prisoners with resources to reintegrate them into society
- Establish a secure and prosperous future for mothers and wives of former combatants and detainees who are currently serving sentences related to the war
